    Hey All,

Couldn't find anything specific on my question. I am getting ready to install a new motherboard and swap of all my other hardware into a new case. I know (have been told) that I will have to reinstall my OS (windows XP) when I am done with this. Besides backing up everything I need, is there anything else I need to do to my HDD before making the swap? IE Do I need to format BEFORE the swap or anything like that? Or just move to reinstalling when I boot her up for the first time? Thanks for your help.

Sometimes you dont have to reformat but only if the board runs on the same or similar chipset. Back everything up just in case, swap boards, and see if it boots. I was pleasantly surprised when i didnt have to reformat when i swapped boards

Excellent thanks. It is the same chip set. I am just taking my P4 out of a crap dell and putting it into a better board with the same intel 925xe chip set.
