Harry Potter & Sorcerer's Stone PC game HELP!!!

:cry - Seem to have misplaced the case for the PC game HARRY POTTER & THE SORCERER'S STONE. You need the code on the back of the case in order to install the game. This sucks!! Is there a solution to this problem I don't know of? Is there a code breaking tip you can give me? I know it was reckless of me to lose the doggone case, but it seems like very poor gaming protocol to make the CD impossible to play without the code. Afterall, we're not talking a Microsoft Office or Windows program here! Shall I jump off the bridge?:cry

I am sure you can get the code another way. Is it a fun game? I have been playing the DEWmocracy game on www.dewmocracy.com it is really cool.

 

Contact the company that made the game. Some of them will issue a new key if you can send them a photocopy of the CD. Worth a shot.

 

It "was" a very cool game. If I could only get it started again. I did contact EA Games, the manufacturer's. They want $10 to re-issue me a code. I never registered the game initially, cause if I had, I coulda gotten the code back that way for free. I recommend registering your games from now on, in case like me, ya lose an installation code. I just wish EA hadn't set an install-by-code-only policy on that game in the first place. It's a great game.

 

Almost every game I can think of has a code. They use them to try to fend off the piracy problem.

I write the codes on the CD with a Sharpie and I also keep a sheet of paper printed out - stored with all my CDs. Every time I get a new game I add the key to the sheet and print it out again. Saves a lot of trouble.
