Has anyone heard of....

    "Spyware Storm Warning" or "Spyware Storm Alert"? I've run across two machines running this program, which claims to be a spyware removal program, but seems to be spyware. When I removed it, first through Add/Remove programs, it removed the IP Stack. The next day I used the uninstaller that came with it, and it also removed the IP stack. Every attempt at fixing the problem failed, and I'm rebuilding both boxes. I did a google and I can't find the program anywhere. So if you've heard of it, any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

    That's the program, sorry I couldn't remember the name, but that is the one.

    If its not listed here... Be wary, if not because it is a rogue program, but because it is just not high enough quality to be listed here compared to the competition. Spybot and Ad-aware are the two best known programs, but theres a few other good ones. Let us know if we can help more.

    Thanks again, it was listed on that site, as a rogue, and based on the trouble it's caused, I have no doubt that it is.

    You're welcome. Save the link to that site and check it periodically for updates. Also, as MA said, if you cannot download it here on MG's, we probably would not recommend using it.
