    Hi Everyone:

While browsing this afternoon, I happened on a website
that had an interesting looking program for spyware removal.
I d/loaded it and scanned. YIKES! It said I have 251 errors
in registry!!!!! I saved the log file but didn't fix any of the
errors yet. I briefly browsed the log file and I might be
wrong but it seemed to me that I was seeing a few
things that Ad-Aware or Spybot should have picked up on.

    Omniquad Anti-Spy 4.0

Has anyone at MG tried this program or heard of it?

I'm enclosing a link to the website where I saw the program.

    Update:

    Omniquad Anti-Spy 4.0 seems to be a 30 day
free trial deal. Then you have to pay for it.
Also, it seems that the program only performs
a scan unless you buy it. If you buy
it, then it lets you fix stuff. I didn't
try any fixes so can't vouch for
that personally. I read some comments
on some webpages that offer the download
of the program and some of the people
who had downloaded it made that comment.

Another note: I decided to print out the
report it generated! 356 pages in WORD!
    I think NOT!

    Never mind!

If it does not show its effectiveness removing, then forget it. Its also easy to lie about what it found by being over sensitive via registry cleaning and claim its just a better product. Forget all these johnny come latelys trying to ride the paranoia game when Ad-Aware and Spybot were there in the beginning offering free tools. They are too little, too late, too expensive and just as bad as the spyware scumbags for lying to you. Its bad enough your infested with spyware from scumbags nowadays, only to have shareware or crappy programs claiming to help you.

I ran it and it found that it was slower then many on a full scan. Found 281 items, and many I can PERSONALLY guarantee you I do not have. Program is a joke, lying to people who try it in order to sell it.

In other words, Spybot and Ad-Aware are free. Use those :)

    Hi Major:

Thanks so much for taking the time to look into that software program for me.
Isn't that such a shame that they would try to scare people into buying their product.
I appreciate you setting me straight about it. I'll just continue with Ad-Aware and Spybot as you suggested.
