Has windows xp been phased out?

I don't know if i'm in the right group with this question, Has anyone lately reinstall xp and not been able to activate it by internet or by phone i've tried both (i'm using a 3-4 year old retail copy of xp home) and when i try by phone i get told they cannot verify my id (key) and i've never had any problems with it in the past and i know it's not my hardware because i can install and activate and run vista with no problems (i'll use vista until i can get a retail copy of windows 7).

 

Not until 2014.

 

I've had that happen many times in the past, but not for a while now.

Sometimes it would sort itself out in an hour or two, and sometimes a day or so, like i said though it hasn't happened for a while (6mths at least) and i am activating XP all the time.

Alot of times, XP puts a temp lock on keys, so that they cannot be used on more than 5(i think) computer at a time. Just give it time and try again.

 

XP doesn't put a lock on anything.

The activation servers will deny you after so many online activations within 120 days, then resets. That will not stop you from phone activation.
