Hauppauge Video Capture card - No Audio

Hey. So yeah, I've got a Hauppauge wintyHVR 1100 video Capture Card. This card has the standard composite input at the back, Y/R/W. Using Descaler, I can capture the video, fairly fine. It looks ok. It'll do for now.

But there is no audio comming through. I've downloaded the drivers etc from the Hauppauge main site. I'm pretty sure I've got them all, device manager shows the Wintv 88x Audio Capture codec, Video Crossbar, etc. Now the program looks like it can capture audio via Line In/Mic. So I would need a lead to go from the white/red audio leads to the mic slot at the back.

But.......if that's the case, what is the point of having the audio slots on the actual video card?

I also have Realtek sound card installed. This is built in I believe; it's not on the normal PCI bus slots.

Under Audio Properties - Sound Recording, all I can select is the default line in/mic in. And the sound playback is the Realtek HD rear output. Ditto for voice properties.

But....under the Hardware tab in Sounds and Audio Device properties, it shows Wintv TS capture, Audio Capture, Video Capture etc.....

On Descaler, it won't let me select anything for the audio channels. Now if there is nothing loaded, then it lets me select audio, as a some sort of preconfig I assume. You might think this is a software issue, but the same thing happens if I try using Hauppauges offical AMcap software.

Sorry its so long, but I just wanted to make sure you get the full picture.
    Thanks!

Did you patch the audio out into the video capture card?

Usually I split the speaker out with a 1/8" Y-splitter - one to the speakers & one to the capture card or if it doesn't have a port run it in the Mic port.

Did the card come with a small 1/8" cable?

1/8" Y splitter? No I didn't recieve any other cables with it. So, I need to put the audio cables into this Y splitter thing before putting it into the video card eh?

I thought because my card had the audio input sockets built into it, I would just be able to plug them straight into them, but.....no sound comes out.......

Running it into the mic port might work, but what kind of cable would you need for that?
