Have I Been Hacked?.

Just recently over the last few days, something very strange as been happening at startup. Now it doesn't happen every time I turn on my computer. It's happened about 4 times so far. But just as my desktop appears a second cursor appears on my screen. It's a black magnifying glass with a white center with a black + in it. It moves around on it's own and usually open my start menu and also my right-click properties window...then disappears. I have checked my windows cursor folder and I don't have that cursor on my machine.

Now I have ran Ad-Aware Pro, Sophos Anti-Rootkit Tool, McAfee Total Protection 2007 and all of them bring back results of my computer being 100% clean.

I have heard about hackers having the ability to use your computer from miles away. But don't they need to have a trojan server on your pc somewhere for them to be able to access your PC.

I hope it's something not malicious, but it really worries me to think somebody could have access to my computer.

    Can anybody help me please

    Thank you

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Just out of curiousity, do you have more than one computer? Do you use wireless mice?

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

    Hello

Thanks for replying, I am now reading that topic you sent me.

But I thought I would quickly answer your 2 questions.

    I only own 1 computer.
And I recently bought a new Logitech Wireless Desktop...keyboard and mouse
