I updated but it took forever. I had to upgrade to a new version. 1.61.0.1400

If you do not have the latest version, it may help to deinstall, install the latest version and then update.

Re: Upgrading/Updating Programs and then Rebooting Afterwards

This is always a very good idea (rebooting, I mean) whenever updating any program; but particularly when it is a program "upgrade" rather then a simple update of an application.

I know this to be true because I frequently test new freeware and occasionally shareware products. And whenever they are updates or upgrades; I have found that it is also a good idea to stop whatever you are doing and then to turn off all running programs while you are doing the actual upgrade/update and then to immediately reboot afterwards - when the installation has completed.

Many programs installation files (while they are being installed) will warn also warn users to turn off all running programs and to reboot. However, I believe it is a good idea to take these additional steps in any case, whether the user is warned or not. I will also always save the .zip file or .exe file; rather than immediately clicking "Run" from the website that I am downloading the program from.

These few additional steps only take two or three minutes extra (at the most) and while it may be true that these types of problems occur rarely; they can and do still actually happen and can sometimes cause huge problems if something goes wrong either during the downloading process, during the install process or afterwards, whenever the user chooses not to immediately reboot.

    Good Luck! -- COMP
