ive had this problem a while and not sure what to make of it....

only really happens if i play an online game, after about 15 or 20 mins i will lose the connection.

after i close the game i cant get on the internet period, so i have to reboot my pc to get the connection back, but also i have to manually hit the restart button because selecting the restart within windows, it will make it to the " windows is shutting down " screen and sit there and never actually reboot.

    any ideas or suggestions?

what is your os (operating system)? how long have you had this problem? what is the game (or is it multipe games)? what kind of connection (wired/wireless), cable/dsl, etc, etc.? have you had any other connection problems prior to noticing this? more information is needed. - sos

edit - how much ram do you have? what are your comp specs? and have you had this problem all along playing this game(s), with your same comp specs?

not exactly sure how long but id say its been a good 6 months

only game it seems to happen on is unreal tournament 2004 especially when a lot of players are on.

have a wired cable connection and from my cable modem it goes to a usb port since my motherboards onboard nic died.

    gigabyte-ga-p35-ds4 m/b

    intel core 2 quad q6600 o/c to 3.0 ghz

    2 gigs 4 x 512mb crucial ballistics ram ddr2 800 mhz

bfg 8800 gtx running on their o/c

    creative live 5.1 sound card

    350 gb seagate h/d

the problem only seems to happen on the mentioned game yet it never used to have the problem until about 6 months ago.

sometimes i can play for hours just fine then others ill play five mins and it will lose connection.

hmmm actually about 6 months ago is when my onboard nic died and i had to switch to a usb cable between my cable modem and pc but i dunno what exactly the problem still could be.

    ty for responding :)
