have to wait for web page to time out, then reload

hi, im having a strange problem.
everytime i go to a new web address it says 'looking up webaddress.com' at the bottom of the browser, then i have to wait for it to time out and 'address not found' error to appear, then reload and the site works.

doesnt sound like a major issue but sometimes it takes like a minute to time.

i have disabled IPv6 and firewall and reset all browser and network settings but still no joy.

also i have no outgoing connections (from anything i shouldnt)

I dont think it would have been messed with. And i dont think you would be able to get any kind of addresses to appear without it but....
Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections Then right click the one you are using and click Properties. Scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. Make sure that everything is Checked to Obtain settings Automatic.
Ok also something else i could think of is that it could be something to do with your cookies, or browser settings. Try and go into your browsers options and look for something along the lines of turning cookies on or something. I havent looked into this much, ill have to mess around with it. lol I recommend that you use mozilla Firefox instead of internet Explorer by the way but its up to you lol.:major

 

try start - run - type cmd - hit enter
type ipconfig/flushdns


might help out to flush your dns cache.

 

i did that and got "the requested operation requires elevation"???

That usually means you need admin rights on vista.
