Having a problem with Mozilla Firefox...

Hey, I'm having a problem with firefox. It crashes everytime I open the bloody thing. All I know is it has something to do with msvcrt.dll.

This is what the Event Viewer has logged (well, the main things anyways):

Source: Application Error
Event ID: 1000

Description:
Faulting application firefox.exe, version 0.9.0.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.1106, fault address 0x0003381c.

Anyone have a clue as to what is going on?

 

Not a clue, but I'd say look for version 0.8, as I use it and it works fine most of the time. Its still in development, so you should expect bugs like this to pop up. AFAIK 0.8 has got a stable release now.

 

I have tried reinstalling and using other versions, but none have worked.

I noticed you actually found the answer yourself before he could diagnose it, but thanks for going back and posting the solution there. li.prefs has been the culprit sometimes for earlier versions of Netscape, too. Keep hold of that link-- Jay's a real helpful guy if you let him.
