Who uses Internet Explorer anymore. What happens if you use either Chrome or Firefox? Does the history save on either one of those two browsers?

Yeah I regularly use firefox but sometimes need internet explore due to programs not working in firefox and I downloaded chrome and both save the history and theres no problem there. Just in the internet explore

Goldenskull I can't follow the rules

Go too IE then click on Tools then Internet Options then in
General there should be a Browsing History option below Home Page
Where it says Delete browsing history on exit see if it is checked if it is uncheck it.

And you made sure that it is un-checked correct.

    Hi,
Try the Methods provided and check if they help in resolving the issue.
    Method 1:
I would suggest you to check the following settings.
    a) Open Internet Explorer.
    b) Click on Tools
    c) Click on Internet options
    d) Under general tab Click on Settings
    e) If the “Disk space to Use” or the Browsing History space is full, it will not be saved

    Method 2:
    Launch the Internet Explorer
    a) Click on the Tools-menu.
    b) Select Internet Options in the menu - a new window opens.
    c) Click on the Delete button Under Browsing History - a new window opens.
    d) Put a check mark under preserve favorite’s websites data and close the window
    e) Click on the Privacy tab near the top of the window.
    f) Move the slider to Low
    g) Save changes by clicking on Apply and click OK.
    Method 3:
Also check if the Option “Delete Browsing History on exit” is not checked.
    a) Open Internet Explorer.
    b) Click on Tools in the Menu Bar.
    c) Select Internet Option.
    d) In the General tab check the option “Delete Browsing History on exit”.
    e) If it is checked then Internet Explorer will not save the browsing history.
    f) To save the browsing history uncheck the option and then click on OK to save the changes.

Okay I followed the methods ya'll have given me im not for sure it it help because usually it deletes the browser history at different timing so ill post back if it does. Also when I was in the Browser settings under the location were the temporary files go it has a different user than mine it has the name but cuts off some of it and replaces it and shows this C;/Users/Cooper~1\App data\Local\Temp\temporary files. but there is no files when I look manually it should says Cooperton\app data.

Are you running any type of cleaner software like CCleaner, or the such, which could be wiping out the history? There is also a chance that the registry got screwed up. How far does your restore points go back? Any errors in the events under Admin tools?

Well to look in your Temp file

Go to Start then Run then Type %Temp% in the Run option.

Sorry I haven't replied, been busy.

The Last time I ran a CCleaner was back in the beginning of March. but I bought this one software called PC tune-up and when I installed it I thought it was working but then realized it was causing problems with my software opening with the windows and removed it I believe it erased my system restore points because they don't save correctly they go back two days from the date I'm typing now. I do how ever have a registry file that I backed up before I did a scan with the CCleaner dating back to March/09/2012 and the Spydoctor Snapshot dating to February/24/2012 should I restore or will that not help. and internet explore did it again were it erased my browser history
