Having troubles...

So, I don't know if this is really the problem or not, but I have had my laptop (it's a Gateway) for a little over a year. I watch movies on TV online all the time. This past weekend I tried to watch a DVD, and it wouldn't work.I It kept saying that I needed to adjust my video settings, I changed it in every way I could find possible, to no avail. I did watch an online video and a video off of my digital camera, but still can't watch DVDs. This is something that just started last week.

Also, I called my internet provider to see why I couldn't connect wirelessly and on my service call they said it was my wireless driver. (My internet service is wireless.) I can connect from school, but not home.

Is there a virus that could be causing this? I use Antivir and am not getting any virus notifications. There aren't any strange processes that I haven't seen before; I am really lost. Any help or direction of where to look would be fantastic!

 

I have a W730-K8X. Do you know why it would be messing up?

 

Just a few other things I thought of: I am constantly getting an error message about low virtual memory, and my computer is freezing up often. I have BigFix, but it too locks up my computer. I can't even look at the relevant "fixlets." I tried to reinstall the wireless driver through the "applications and drivers recovery" in my system tools and it didn't make a difference. I also ran another full system scan and I am still not coming up with anything that would make a difference...
