HD 7800 Druver issue

I have a Dell XPS 8500 With 16GB RAM, I7 3770 CPU and an XFX R7850 (AMD) video card. I upgraded from Win 8 to Win 8.1, and everything seemed alright. Right after, I also updated my AMD video driver from 14.4 to 14.9, and everything fell apart. At first I was getting black screens on the install, and it would just freeze like that (left it for a few hours). I tried running the driver install like 4 times and got the same result every time. Even tried updating my BIOS. After checking around on the net I found that some people are having the same sorts of issues, and the general consensus was to roll back to 14.4 and wait for AMD to deliver a more stable driver. Problem is, now I cant get ANY version to take. I've tried every version right back to 13.12. Whenever I install it, the installer says it was successful and calls for a reboot, which I do. Once it reboots I get an error on start-up saying "No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate....". When I look in the device manager, I have a yellow warning beside the display adapter. Anybody have any ideas on this? Thanks.

 

So I decided to install my previous video card which is an Nvidia GT620, and wouldn't you know it, exact same thing. I'm not getting the AMD specific message on boot, but still not getting proper GPU functionality and still getting a warning in the device manager. I tried reinstalling the chipset drivers from Dell, but no difference. Clearly the problem is with the computer and not the video card though.

 

Just tried removing the external video card and running off of integrated video (Intel HD 4000), exact same thing. Has anybody come across this before?
