I recently upgraded to windows 7, I haven't seemed to find any fixes for this. And i've tried so hard to uninstall the High Definition audio device, but when I restart my pc... its there.. again.. I Don't need this thing, simply because of the fact I can install my own drivers and they worked fine before, that, and it makes my cpu run at 100% on startup, so I have to open the device manager to shut it off.. again. I even deleted the driver from the system files, cmon, wth. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If CPU usage is at 100% for more than the first minute or so after turning the PC on, it's unlikely the audio driver (CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>DEVICE MANAGER) is the culprit.

Download and run Advanced System Care Free:

Run the scans first, let it make any registry repairs needed, reboot the PC and see if the CPU usage drops after a minute or so.

I would also use either the Advanced Windows Care utilities (or MSCONFIG) to look at the start up menu programs. If there are audio programs or other junkware in the list uncheck them, reboot the PC and see if the problem goes away.

    Hope this helps. :)

Thanks, sorry for the long reply. It is most definatly not the Device manager. When winodws starts it will be at 100% until I disable High definition audio controller. Then it magically drops to 1%. I have an old computer. And no HD audio support or card. I installed my Realtek AC97 drivers and they work fine. It has been like this since I installed windows 7, its not too bad of a problem. Just have to turn off HD audio on every startup. But it becomes a hassle. I've really tried everything, and everything you said. But it wont go away. Ive even thought of taking the driver off the install disk to reformat a clean install without it on the cd. Like I said before I dont need it at all, the thing that makes me mad is the fact microsoft put that driver on there in the first place. Everyones mobo or audio card should come with a compatible driver for windows 7, shit, I installed my processor driver and it was from windows xp. Thats what compatability mode is for. It runs just fine, and everything runs excellent, actually the same yet better than it did on windows xp. Everything but that driver. Thanks for the tip but I cant disable this thing to save my life. Its not even on the startup list.

How are you shutting it off?

I would think if you find the HD audio in Device Manager then right-clicking it and selecting Disable should shut it off, even through restarts, until you manually enable it again. At least that is how disabling a device has worked for me in the past.
