HD Big problems

Hi again... To begin " the start.. new 200 Gig WD. HD. Did the usual FDisk Primary Dos partition.etc. went to Format but com froze at 21% so rebooted and did a quick format then loaded 50 gig of data and all was well for a day, then it, the 200 WD kept disappearing on boot. This morning there was no WD so I booted with sata then powered off, added WD and it was showing. went to access and it disappeared.

So i thought maybe its a MBR prob so thought I'd fdisk and start all over re-partition.,Format etc. but, MB now does not recognise that its there .. Zilch !! have tried all usual, Boot just with the SATA, add WD (eide) and every combination i can think of ... any ideas plz.

EIDE 200 Gig Western Digital
XP Pro
etc.

 

So i was just about to strip it down again this morning and me thinks I'll give it one more try.... now I aint touched any settings (software) or hardware settings ... nuffin... powered up and there it was lol lol lol
Totall mystery ,,, unless ... the Mobo detection unit work a 40 hour week and had the weekend off
