HD Cleaner ?

I bought a brand new 1tb HD, and the next day got a virus which i cannot get rid of. I have now reinstalled my original 500gig HD to use, as the virus makes the other HD unusable . What is the vest program or method to just nuke the entire drive so i can re-install windows 7 and start all over, since I barely got started with it, there isnt much on the drive any way. Somebody told me to install XP, (I DO have my own legit copy) which will totally destroy all data on the HD - then reinstall windows 7, but there must be an easier way.

I think what they meant with xp, Is use the setup disk to wipe the drive. Myself I just use Dban. Works good and for sure wipes everything.

 

If you have room in your machine or can install a slave drive, use Disk Management in Administrative Tools.
Install your 1TB as slave.
Delete the partition on the slave and reformat(full,not fast).

Wouldn't just reinstalling Win 7 resolve this, since it would involve, or allow him to, reformat(ing) the hard drive? I don't see why these other methods would be needed.

 

Because Kill disk writes zeros to the entire harddrive so you are guaranteed total removal of all previous data.
