HD file analysis software

Long story, brother had malware, made him reinstall OS, now thinks he has two installs. I don't think so, no choice of OS or listing of a 2nd OS (XP.SP3).

BUT somehow he didn't regain space, he didn't reinstall all the junk, so should have regained some, followed a simple reformat and install guide I sent him, everything working fine.

Remember a good software at MG's that would tell you what was taking up space on your HD but can't remember name... anyone know?

Yeah, I know he didn't have to reinstall but practicing tough love with family malware issues!

Ideas welcome as to what is taking up the space too...

The lack of recovered space may be that he did a repair installation instead of a full reinstall. Fully understand about family and computer issues! Hope this helps!

 

Unfortunately can't find anything at MG. Bigbazza though posted about a free trial sofware post #4, Tip #98 http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=181204

Perhaps someone can chime in where to find the download you request at majorgeeks.com ?

Just occurred to me that those following this thread might not know that WinDirStat is the software I was looking for, thank you Novice, saved me a trip. (somethings pushing the thanks button is not enough)
