HD folders will not burn

I have tried a number of burner programs, including Nero, and I still cannot transfer/burn a HD folder to a DVD!

All programs appear to progress properly right to the closing Thank You (or whatever)...a check of the Properties of the new DVD shows the right size BUT IT WILL NOT REPLAY.

Would this be a hardware program or software program.

N.B: O/S - Windows XP S3, CD & CD-R are LG & the HD is an 8200 rpm, 140 GB with 60% free.

 

Is there a way around this? The folder I want to burn is a 1 of a kind and I want to put it on disk for safe keeping.

 

Unless you didn't explain things clearly, or are confused about your hardware and/or exactly what you're trying to accomplish, it sounds like you're trying burn some type of DVD (you didn't say what it is you're trying to burn to DVD: movie, music, data files) but from your hardware description, you do not have a DVD drive. Burning a DVD without a DVD drive is impossible; reading a DVD without a DVD drive is impossible. CDs and DVDs are different and not interchangeable. You can burn music, data, video, movies, etc, to either a CD or DVD as long as you have the hardware to do it. Maybe you can explain the problem a bit more clearly: like tell us what it is you need to burn, and why it needs to go on a DVD vs. a CD, and we'll try to help!

I'm not sure what you mean by "replay". Please explain yourself a bit more clearly.
