    Hey Guys,
I'm stumped.. I took a slaved HD out of my old computer and put it in my new one for more storage. I plugged it all in, but my computer wouldn't boot. I restarted and it came to the Gateway splash screen then stayed there for a while, so I restarted again and it went past the splash screen but it stopped there. The 2nd drive's jumper is set to slave.
    • It wouldn't load into the BIOS( it didn't even give me the option too)
    • There are a few random files on it, that I was gonna get rid of after I got it up and reformatted it
    Thanks

    Greetings, Spock96.

Need to know the makes and model #s of the motherboard, hard drives, etc.

Since you're jumpering the drive(s), I'm assuming these are IDE devices. Check your IDE cable, change positions on the cable, maybe even swap to another if you have one. Check any motherboard jumpers for Cable Select settings.

Revert back to original settings without the 2nd drive - does the machine start up ok?
