HD to small?

Hey all i just realized that when i bought my computer it had a 160 gig HD and since then ive reformatted into winxp pro and now it says all i have is a 120 and i have absolutly NO idea what to do to get my space back anyhelp would rule thanks PPL!!!

 

sounds like you didnt delete the old partition when you installed xp when you go into setup it will show you the partitions then options to delete, install what you need to do is hit D then enter then L this will delete the partition then when the window with those options comes back up hit enter then it will format and install from there

 

I know for sure that i deleted the old partition but i still dont know what to do. I also heard once that windows xp pro cant recognize a hd that is over 120 gigs until you have sp2 installed but for "certain" reasons i cant get sp2 and i also cant find anything on that anywhere else i cant even remember where i heard that so take that for what its worth.

after you instal sp2 you will have to format the remaining 30-40 GBs
