My problem is that I have 2 sata in RAID 0 but I want a backup. When I connect a IDE hard drive as a slave on IDE 1 on the mobo, it will not detect the RAID volume. I have tried the IDE set as slave, cable select, master, nothing works.

I just want to be able to boot from my RAID volume and use the IDE as a backup in windows.

I have had this problem the board decides the ide drive is taking over the show, select harddrive boot priority in bios or try entering boot menu if your board has one f11 on mine "instead of del to enter bios" and selecting the array, you can leave the ide drive set as master as its on its own channel

    :)

Or buy another two drives and then you can go raid 10 (1 + 0). Then, you'd have your backup drives! :)

Is there a particular reason you went with raid 0?

I edit MP3s often. I play games often. It makes a noticable increase in speed to my computer in general.
