I want to use gimp to setup cover page has to be awesome to create interest in project to build gnotobiotic for disabled, disenchanted members of the armed forces. This will provide them with a purpose which is why I bought these toys/tools. I haven't had any useful reason to do anything for years, yet i feel I owe them==they do provide all of us the opportunity to pursue whatever...:cool gnome

my protocol is probably as inept as my computer skill, however wickipedia is a poor reference, a gnotobiotic is a controlled environment containing one or afew kinds of lifeforms ie gnarled soldiers like myself retired sp4-tho I was referred to as an E-0. Sorry to have wasted your time,I'll figure it out myself. I do like your site, could you answer this for me, should I reup with norton, due to expire 3 days? thanks for your time gnome

NO!!!! Norton has become a bloated, ineffective, resource hungry, "application" and I use the term very loosely. There are many quality free antivirus programs available that are better than Norton IMHO. Avira's AntiVir is what I run on my personal PC and I have NEVER had a full blown infection. Avast! is good and popular, and AVG7.5 is very popular too. All are free and available here at Major Geeks in the AntiVirus downloads section, here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads29.html Here's a good link to check out since you're looking for PC protection: http://www.majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=20
Good luck! I hope this helps...

    Hi

I guess it may have been hard for some to work out what your actual question was in your first post, but re-reading it a few times, I think I get your gist in that you wish to use both Gimp and the HDD Video cam to produce a poster or main page to promote your project.

Many Gimp tutorials can be found on the internet and these two should get you going as one of them has a tutorial in how to add Video images to a page design.

    http://www.ylug.cwc.net/Tutorial/Poster.html
http://www.gimp-tutorials.com/index.php ( down bottom of this is a tutorial in adding Video to an image in GIMP )

hope I'm on right track and these help.

Thanks a bunch Major & Halo, found cruits that can can do the stuff I need,& I am grateful for the norton advice. The camera makes a nice paperweight, but without trolling I Would never have found capable people. I don't really like people, but I owe the gnarled ones more than I can possibly repay. I do like you guys (&gals) though. As Arnold would say I'll be back. later-gnome:cool:cool
