HDD Hlp please

hi im very confussed my pc iv installed my hard drive but it wont recognise my other hard drive as secondary iv tryed most things and im lost now could some one help me please thankx

 

Is this a new build or did you add another harddrive to an existing system?
What type and brand are the harddrives. does it recognise your primary harddrive.

 

Post as much information as you can possibly find about your computer and harddrives.

 

You should tell us what you have tried.

Like what?

 

there is nothing wrong with the hard drives they both work if i use them seperatly. but i have one of them as primary and tried the other as secondary but it wont read it in the bios or anything.

 

using the same cable.....4 the 2 hdd.....they must be of the same capacity
or try to use 2 diferite cables

 

wat u mean try using 2 ide cables i got one for the dvd-rw and the other for my HDD so how am i suposed to use 2 ???

 

ide 1 ...connect the hdd on whitch is the OS(windows) and teh optical unit
ide 2 ...the other hdd
make soure that the jumpers are set propperly ....and try also to make the config in BIOS if possible

 

iv tried to do that tho but i dont understand why it ent working ???maybe ill have to buy a new one or sumthing

 

Try ALL Combinations of Jumper settings on the slave usimg the 2 and 1 jumpers and including NO jumpers at all... suprising what may work

 

mmmm i think iv already tryed that the other day mate.

Have you got raid on your motherboard and is it disabled? Had this problem recently...
