    Greetings Geekers:

I have three HDDs, da, db, dc which contain five different OSs.
When I had only had a single OS per HDD, I knew where each was, based
on the alphabet tag, now I can not.

Why do the HDD change their letter id ? What would cause dat ?
The only way I know where the particular OSs [partition] is to record
the volume of that partition, which is not the best means.

There are no command prompts, which would locate any or all of
the Linux OSs, from what I know.

Any helf would be kindly appreciated.

Maxwell, my main OS would be Mint 21.1. I also have Manjaro and Solus.
I looked at Linux Reader and it would not provide the needed information.
In fact, Geeparted and Disk would give me the same data.

After some work on my rig, once again the HDD lettering changed once more.
I am surprised dat the Linux engineers have not developed a command for
such a function. There too many users whom are using multi OSs and the
partitions with their OSs would be very valuable.

Tanks for the linkies, Sir Maxwell.

The first jack link, simply indicates the file system.
Does the second link suggest I can change the HDD
    designation from SDA1 to SDA1Mint or SDA1M?
The link also offers command options, in the terminal.
If I can change the description, in my example, it would
    solve this issue for me.

    I have spent about two hours, trying to find an answer;
your offering is the closest to a fix.

Maxwell, got a dolt cap for me !!! Your first link [Make America Link Again]
solved my question. I did not read the article close enough, but it worked like a
charm ! Fifteen years of using Linux and I lacked this knowledge. Someone, pleaze
someone, take me to the glue factory.

Max, I am very grateful for your expertise and your helf. I had tried to get this answer
at The Bleepingcomputer.com, however, the advice did not find any success. I shall archive
    that link.

PS: I did a rebootie, to see if the change had persistence. It did !!

Can I send you a $10,ooo check or my Frau ? The latter is not pre-paid shipping. :))

One last thing, Sir Maxwell, this operation can also be used, via
Geeparted. Thus, the user has two different software options. :):)
