Has anyone seen something like this, and does it mean my drive is failing. (hopefully i can splain this well because its very odd lol)

Ive got 2-1TB Samsung drives in my pc, which i transferred from an old pc so they have some use on them, and i believe this one was the first one i bought a few years back. When i open a file location to see its properties, the file size doesnt "instantly" show its size, it will "count up" until it reaches the actual size of the file. (ie-ill click properties, screen comes up showing info, file size will start at say 1.305g and count up til it reaches its real size of 3.334g)

Is this a sign of a failing drive? and it makes a tad more noise than the other drive as well. (im pretty sure i know the answer to this question, and im pretty sure im not going to like it LOL)

Thanks for either confirming, or giving me hope, on this question ;)

Ps. Once ive accessed the drive, it doesn't make the "spin up" noise anymore and once ive accessed the file once, it doesnt seem to have to count up any longer. (im assuming thats because its now in resident memory?)

You'd think id know these things by now heh

Download SeaTools and run the short test.
    http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/
Note: this works on all brands of hard drives not just Seagate.
    Select your preference and download.
The SeaTools for DOS would be burned to a CD and the computer will boot from it.
The SeaTools for Windows gets installed and runs within Windows.
