    :) Hi all,

I have done a search and I couldn't find any relevant answer, so here goes....

My system's running a bit slower than normal, so i've done the usual spy/trojan/virus/worm checks with no noticable problems.

The main problem is it's coming up with a "low system resources/disc space" message when I open Word. Also, " Word could not fire event "

I still have 14 gig left on my harddrive, so I suppose my question is, Is there a difference between system resources and disc space? That sounds really noob, but hey, if I don't know, i have to ask!

The other symptoms are that I'm loosing text and graphics on web pages and on my Windows XP environment, i.e. missing file names, miss icons but still clickable.

Please help, I've googled and searched and gooled and searched, but cos I can't see some of the text, I can't find the resolution!

It took me about 1/2 hour to get to this bit cos there are so much graphics/text missing at the moment!

    Help me please!

    Thanks in advance.:)

Would do two things ....first (not all anti-virus programs will pick up nasties) :
Bitdefender agree to the license and then select Scan. DO NOT CHANGE THE OPTIONS TO SHOW ALL FILES SCANNED. That will make your logs huge and we don't need to see clean files. Once Bitdefender completes the scan:

Click-on the Detected Problems tab. Then select Click here to export the scan report

When the window comes up to save the report, change the Save as type: box to Text (Tab Delimited) (*.txt) and then in the File name box enter change to bdscan then click save. This will save a file named bdscan.txt in whatever folder you are currently in when you save the file (take notice of where you are at so you can find it later). This bdcan.txt file will actually contain HTML code that we can easily view later while reviewing your log. All we have to do is rename the file to bdscan.html.

Second ....either go to start / run / type "sfc /scannow" without qoutes and have the xp disk handy ...run at least twice....OR
    Wordy xp repair install:
