Hdd To Ssd.

    how do i transfer the os from my hdd to a new ssd. i am a beginner so simple would be best.

    It is a relatively simple process. The size of the partitions on the existing hdd need to fit onto the SSD. This can be done with programs like Aomei Partition Assistant.
    You will also need some sort of caddy to connect your blank SSD via USB to your computer something like this.
    The you will need some coling software which copies your OS disk onto your SSD. After which you place the SSD in place of the Hard disk in the computer.
    I have done it many times.
    Good luck with the process.

    A good practice is to make a backup of the disk before you start so that you can always get back to what you know.

    If you want to pay a little money Acronis is the way to go.
    Seems it's free for 30 days.
    When you clone your hard drive it will automatically resize the partitions.
