hddvd codex question?

    I have pc with cd/dvd player. It plays cd/dvds on media windows player, but will not play hddvd's.Is there a codex solution to this or do I need to upgrade driver?

    I use Microsoft windows xp, version 2002,service pack 3,Intel [R] Pentium [R] 4 CPU 1.60GHz, 768 MB Ram . If that makes sense lol! Using realtek hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-h1on if that makes sense also :p

    You need a specific HD player to be able to read HD DVDs, same goes for Blu-ray.
