I bought a tablet and i wish to use the hdmi feature on it.

However i am puzzled on what cable i actually need to buy?

I am not really well educated on the matter but i was just planning on using one of my siblings ps3 hdmi cable until i found out its too thick to actually fit in the hdmi port in the tablet.

I just want to get an idea of what cable i actually need. Seeing if i type '' tablet hdmi cable'' on ebay or amazon sellers there will usually price theirs higher than normal and kind of preying on people like me who don't know better.

I guess another good example of this ''trick'' is people selling a regular sandisk micro sd card and putting in the title or listing '' for samsung galaxy xxx'' etc.. kind of getting the attention of a buyer who knows no better than just bbuying any other micro sd card which will also work fine in a phone.

You need a micro HDMI cable Nexus. I've seen them on sale for $10, but they usually run around $20. You can buy them anywhere they sell electronics. Even Walmart.

Agreed with sibeer. We use this cable - and yes: we got it at Walmart. ;)

    Thanks for the replies.

The current tablet i got is just mediocre at best and i was basically thinking of just giving it to a family member.

What is a good tablet for around $150-$250 usd? One of my main concerns is battery life .. the current one i bought lasts about 2.5 or 3 hrs MAX using wifi

Anyone have or tried a nexus 7?

I've found that Newegg beats local retailers, now called "brick & mortar" stores, hands down on cables. I got a premium (BYTECC) 6' HDMI cable there for $6 with free shipping, with their promo code. Otherwise the cable would have been $12 (at Newegg).

At Wal Mart, these accessories are of lower quality, and priced very high. I didn't check out their HDMI cables, but I checked out their Ethernet cables, they wanted $18 for one (1) 12 foot 5e cable. I walked out of the store.

Went to my email box, there was a promo from Newegg, I ended up getting a total of 5 Ethernet cables, three of the CAT 6 rating, two of the CAT 7 rating (those two were for my modem to router & router to VOIP. The CAT 6 cables went to my computers. They are high quality cables of the Rosewill brand.

The price, on promo, less than $15 for all five next generation Ethernet cables. I suppose if one needs an item right then & now, yes get it locally. In general I try to avoid this, not only to save money, but I have mobility issues which for the most part keeps me homebound.

As far as eBay is concerned, I lost faith in their products long ago. While there are some honest sellers, one never knows what coming until it arrives. I've received a few good items, but the majority was overpriced, or advertised as "New" when in fact it was used.

When it comes to eBay, I would have to agree and I might add that their product quality does not change between different countries either. It is impossible to not know Wal-mart even when you live abroad but this is the first time I heard of Newegg. We were using a website where we could find both shops by different categories and promo codes (this one: http://promocodius.com/tr/magazalar/morhipo-hediye-ceki) back in TR, but all I have at the moment are browser add-ons for that purpose. Do you have something similar for US instead of checking your e-mails for every shop? Especially for electronics if for nothing else. People always said that those cost much cheaper in US, thus we did not bring any of what we had while moving here to save from the freight cost.

    Lebeau,
This thread is more than 4 years old.
Start a new thread and be more specific - what exactly are you needing?
And we don't all know where "back in TR" is.
