Headdset error?

    Off and on i've been using my plantronics gamecom pro 1 headset on my windows xp sp3 machine and tonight when i plugged in my headset xp tried install usb audio drivers and then make a weird nosie like a helacopter like sound (even rebooting my pc didn't get rid of the noise, just unplugging and replugging in my headset got rid of the wierd noise).:confused
