I have a soundblaster XFI card with a set of speakers and a set of headphones plugged into it.

After reinstalling my OS, the card works fine but there is no volume out of the headphones. As near as I can tell there is no headphone volume control in the Windows Control Panel or the Soundblaster configuration panel.

    What gives?

If you open Volume Control (right click) then you can goto options....properties and select your output device (make sure it is your Sound Card). Also goto Settings>>>Control Panel>>>>Settings and Audio Devices.....have a look at the settings in there.

in the past i've had to change settings in the "sb" properties (ie - 2, 4 speaker, etc). i'm not saying that's the case, i'd look around though. also, are you sure your plugged into the right jack, and the headphones work? - sos
