Headphones not working :(

Hi there, my audio works fine when don't have my headphones connected but when I connect them I can hear nothing though them.

The laptop is a Panasonic Dreambook M66SR, it came with Windows Vista but I upgraded to Windows 7.
Before I upgraded, when I plugged in my headphones VIA HD Deck would sort out my headphones connections etc but now I cannot seem to get them working nor can I find the windows 7 version of the program.

Can someone please help.

Are you headphones USb or 3.5mm

 

try seeing if there is a updated audio driver

and I have looked for updated drivers but have had no luck, apparently they are all up-to-date

 

I'd go into the control panel and sounds, and check to see if your headset has the 2ndary audio device marked on it. I don't have 7 at work, so, I'm going by memory. Then again, I have a usb headset, windows treats that as a 2nd sound device.

 

i think coz it's just a 3.5mm jack connection it doesn't recognise it as a device.
It seems as though the card is not working properly but it doesn't come up with any missing drivers :s

 

If your running windows 7, you need to set your default sound device (currently) so if you have speakers and you want to use your headphones go to control panel/sounds/ and right click on your headphones and set them to default. You may have to restart, but they should work then. When you want to use your speakers, set them to default.

 

the headphones are not there, that's the problem they aren't being detected
