    can you use a heatsink and fan off a 32 bit 3.4 gig pentium on a pentium d 930?

    If the socket is the same, it will fit. (assuming they were both "socket T" LGA-775). Then, it would be wise to look at the power consumption of the two processors and compare them, keeping in mind that the PentiumD could be on a smaller processing technology and get hotter.

    If it's an aftermarket heatsink, check the manufacturers website and see what they claim it supports. :)
