mmk well we ended up having a power supply blow out(don't buy cheap PSUs... ever)

odd thing, it didnt exactly blow out like our last one (our last one in a different comp blew a capacitor sounds cool but lost a MB) one of the red wires ended up burning, and it was one of the wire sets that had the 15-pin SATA power jack and the HDD was hooked up to it and thats it.

we bought a new PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550W and replaced it in the comp.
it fired right up but the display is heavily distorted, hard drive and everything seems OK.

Took out the video card and we are now using the onboard GFX and have not encountered an issue yet.

we don't have another comp with PCI-E so we cant test the vid card w/o paying something.
trying to figure out if it is the card or the motherboard

MB: EVGA nVIDIA nForce 730i intel socket 775 PCI-E 2.2
GFX Card: EVGA nVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
