Ok, like most of you already know, I had a Dell Dimension 4500. I wanted to have a "custom" PC so I bought a new Thermaltake case and I bought this MSI "865G NEO2-PLS" motherboard. Well I got all the stuff yesterday and I switched everything over from my Dell to my new case. Well everything went fine untill I turn it on.
My computer will automatically turn off every 20 seconds or so. I can barely get into BIOS before it shuts off. It doesn't restart, it just completly shuts off. Well I thought it was a problem with my power supply (which is 420 watt and brand new) but then I read in the mobo instructions that there is a feature that will automatically turn off the system if the CPU get's too hot. So II checked in BIOS and sure enough, my CPU was 230 Fahrenheit!! My question is, why is it running so hot, if all I did was basically transfer everything over from my Dell. The only new things are my case and mobo. Could it be that my mobo is too powerful for my CPU? My cpu is only a 2.0 Ghz 400 FSB so I believe that may be it. Even blasting 5 fans it still doesnt get that much colder. PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEE.

When you put it the new mobo, did you leave a little space between the MOBO and the CASE?
The case should have come with some spacer screwes.

make sure you plugged the HSF assembly into power and make sure it's seated right and has thermal paste.

    A couple Questions,
You removed old thermal pad or thermal paste from your CPU & Heatsink, then you applied some new thermal paste when you installed your CPU and Heatsink to your new board?
Are you sure your CPU & Heat sink is properly seated?
Did you plug in your CPU fan to fan header on your board?
Open you case & see if CPU fan is working?
In bios & some windows programs you can control CPU fan speed, crank it.

And last, if the temps you posted are correct (230 F) , you may have fried or damaged your CPU, I not sure what your's can handle?
Some times those mobo features that shut down your system when it gets too Hot, dont always shut down soon enough and fry your CPU.
    Hopefully your CPU is O.K.

It sounds a lot like CPU Heat problems. Make sure you follow the instructions for re-applying heatsink and thermal paste to the letter.
