:confused Did you get it fixed? If not, post an Everest report as an attachment. After we study the report, we should be able to locate the needed drivers...

I forgot to say in my above post..... Welcome to Major Geeks! :wave :major

The Toshiba site has a driver for your laptop for Vista, and after doing some research, I found that it should work for XP. But maybe it doesn't. So, I found a different driver.... but first, download and install KB888111 (it's the Microsoft UAA HiDef audio update). You can get it from this direct link. After that's installed, download and install the XP driver for the Conexant Audio from this direct link. Restart the PC after the install has finished. Let us know how it goes!

Be sure to uninstall any and all sound drivers you've already tried BEFORE using the info above!!!

    Good luck!

Unfortunately, the report tells me nothing new. So, at this point, all I can suggest is what I already suggested... uninstall your current audio drivers, install your chipset drivers from this link, reboot, install the KB888111 Microsoft Uaa Update I linked to above, then install the audio driver I linked to above. If that doesn't work, read this article about 'tricking' the AC link driver (it's written for Gateway, but the process would be the same). So, try that if my above steps don't work, and good luck!
