Hello all - Sudden issue involving anything dealing with logins

Greetings all

My dilemma began this morning, when I woke up, and tried to check my work E-mail from my laptop. It would not load. So I tried my hotmail, and it hung up on "connecting to ..."

I then tried to fire up my World of Warcraft account, that too froze up at "Connecting." I then tried to start up Yahoo, nothing. Then I tried AIM, and my mIRC client, both would not connect.

It's like there's suddenly a brick wall between myself and anything out there that requires a login. A few things work, like MySpace, Facebook, etc. But nothing important will actually work. When I went to bed at 12am, everything was in working order. I'm the only one here, and my laptop was closed up overnight, and it's always firewalled.

I've asked in a bunch of different tech forums since about 8am this morning, but nobody seems to even acknowledge or read it. It just slips to the 3rd or 4th page within an hour or so. I'm at the end of my rope here. I need my laptop for work and pleasure while I'm on the road, and this is very aggravating.

Please let me know what you need to see, and I will provide it.

Hmm... woke up this morning... and it's back to normal. Did nothing except run Windows Malicious software removal tool, and it found nothing.

That's creepy. Is it possible for a computer to get a poltergeist? lol
