Hello and question...

Hi gang! Long time watcher of posts - first time poster. My name is Shelby. I'm a an adult collage student taking...ta da - Computer Science. Gee, who'da thunk? *Giggles* Anyhow...

Writing mainly because I'm helping my friend out with her Tmax Manager Pro. It's a 'box' if you will, that controls her tanning beds. It's gone kaplooey. I think I can fix it.

I know that the 9 pin (female end however, forgive me if I have the wrong word) , serial port is bad. (Not on the computer- the T-Max) If I replace it, I should be able to save her a good $500-600$.

Problam is - I've no idea where to find her one. I already located the DB9 cable I need at Staples. It's always good practice to replace everything and go forward right?

Now I've done a few online searches for this TMax thing, and no one seems to have either A. attempted this and posted their findings, or B. No one bothers and they spend the $600 to get a new one.

So - where can I shop for replacement parts like that?? Any ideas? Thanks in advance guys. Appreciate it.

This weekend I plan on trying process of elimination with her Compaq. I'm going to replace the serial port in the back, try a brand new serial cable cord and see if that works. If not, that eliminates the problam being with the computer.

Then we know for certian that it's the Manager pro. Which, I'm sure it is but it doesn't hurt to know for sure.
