Need a recommend for some win 7 and win vista clean up and boosting....haven't had a machine like this in a bit and it would help to learn what was out there that was still compatible. Thx

Hello JDawg99. For straight free cleaning, nothing beats the combination of Wise Cleaner and CCleaner. CCleaner will let me choose locations to clean, and Wise Cleaner will clean on a schedule. They each find things the other doesn't, so that's nice. I routinely remove a GB or more when cleaning. I used task manager to have CCleaner run on boot. Just add the "/Auto" (no quotes) command when setting up the task.

The best thing I have found for boosting is just keeping things simple and tight. Develop a system for placing files and get a backup drive for backups, etc. Computing becomes fun once things are in order and so on...

For an uninstaller, I use Comodo Programs Manager. It's awesome. I've been using it for I guess 8 years now. Revo is great too.

If you want a nicer look, try Start8 from Iobit. It will tell you it's not free, so attempt to uninstall the program. At that point, it should give you an option to keep the free version. I can't see the difference honestly. With this I get the Windows 10 start icon in Windows 7.

Some Windows 7 programs I recommend:
WinMerge-compare folders/files to find duplicates etc.
Vivaldi-browser seems to run really well on W7
teracopy-fast copies of files with a "verify" feature

I use a large number of portable apps based on a flash drive. You might try this to keep down the clutter on the main system. I use the PortableApps.com downloader, and it keeps all the programs updated. Really awesome. There are even some really fun games in PortableApps...
