Hello Guys and Geeks!

Hello everyone. I am new to Major Geeks and I just wanted to tell you a little about myself. I am on the computer a lot mostly to discuss gaming, off topic stuff, and just to have fun. We also play together online (casual clan at the moment) and I really enjoy playing the Xbox (let's hope they get more Xbox 360's, huh?). Anyways, mainly, I am a webdesigner, graphic artist, artist, writer - the whole package to making an entire network with my twin brother. It is good to have another half

Anyways, I will be here to discuss things. To begin, what does everyone think of the next-gen console, the Xbox 360? I have seen so many videos of the PC version of Battlefield 2 (and I have heard about the sequel, Special Forces) and I saw the rediculous graphics. I was praying that they would create something like that for the consoles (as my computer can only run BF 1942 ) and behold: Battlefield: Modern Combat.

It rules. I play with my buddies on Xbox Live (I love it and I have had it for a few months - I cannot live without it).

Has for the console i never buy one you only could play game on those thing and for me they are not worth it...

With my computer i play games,some graphics cad ,internet and work.
So for me a computer is the best...

Welcome aboard! I'm just back from a bit of time away myself.

Haven't played the 360 yet, but I'm an avid gamer myself. Addicted to World of Warcraft though, so that's about all I really play anymore.

 

I myself like it here, though I do get heated up at times. One thing I could never understand about the internet, while I can and do understand, and in fact use abbreviations and acronyms....why would you take the word "cool" and it`s easy, time worn spelling, and bastardize it to "kewl" . LMAO that`s not one of the things that have frosted me but I just wonder...welcome, and enjoy.

Welcome, KR. This is a good place to be.

I mostly play MMORPGs so I'm not a huge console player. When I do buy consoles it is because of there being a game I want to play. So far, there has been no reason for me to buy an Xbox. My kids like the Nintendo and I like the PS2. I have no plans to buy another console until there are a few games I really want. This gives me an edge, as I never pay a premium for something right when it comes out. I just don't fall for the hype. The games will let me know which console is worth buying, for myself anyway.

I currently play EVE Online and City of Villains. World of Warcraft off and on but right now it's off. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is also a big draw for me lately, besides my recent purchase of Burnout 3 for the PS2.

Wow, anyway thanks for the reply guys. I was hearing a lot about World of WarCraft being one of the "Best Games of The Year." That is a major statement. I haven't done much research on the game but I know it is a MMORPG, as I believe. Now, is there a fee every month?

Star Wars: Battlefront was the game I was BEGGING for (it came out before BF: Modern Combat though). I haven't had the chance to play it online though and I HAVE to do that more (talking Xbox talk - sorry!). Star Wars: Battlefront II looks sweet and I have played a demo of it, but I'm not sure about the Jedi thing. You can only use one button and basically one slash away. But I haven't played it THAT much...what is it like (more details pretty please!).

The Battlefield games are the best games every made in my opinion. Although they came out with mix opinions concerning the single player, they WERE and still ARE the dominating force in the multiplayer world. This is also with the PC, Xbox, but I am afraid the PlayStation 2 does not offer very good online services like the PC or Xbox.

I love Battlefield so much my brother Ryan and I have a website (just see sig - not advertising ). Also, we have received signed copies of the BF2 PC titles (DANG!) that I wish I could honestly play (I do not have the video card or memory). We even were desperate enough to download the demo and no go. I'll probably end up selling them to someone or something. The CM over at EA said, "...the CM of Battlefield is sending you a special gift..." and Ryan (my twin or "other half") and I were SHOCKED. They know I draw a lot of herioc figures (such as marvel characters) and I received Marvel Comics (I have never seen a comic since I was like 8). EA, in my opinion, has the best support center and best contacts...and they have major respect for our web network. That is something I haven't EVER seen from a gaming company - so what? Maybe I like EA. I have noticed, however, the PC world online is somewhat nicer to the gaming companies; I always see spamming and flaming (and no moderators doing anything about it) against companies.

I have watched and downloaded unlimited amounts of videos of Battlefield 2 for the PC - next generation stuff definitely. I just cannot afford upgrading the PC, plus there are risks, etc. We have installed things in the past, but it is such a hassle. We do have a good processor

I recall a girl asking us, "Are you guys...uh...like computer geeks...or somethin'?" Ryan and I said, "Yup." Everyone is anymore - the internet has made us that, so now we all fit in So expect the whole world coming to this place LOL!!!

I know what you are talking about concerning the abbreviations (and why is abbreviations such a long word anyways??). Especially on my Def Jam FFNY Fansite (one of my FAVORITE games ever on the Xbox).

Well, I know the Xbox 360 is expensive and huge - but the hype definitely lives up to the facts. I want one - well need it just like I need to breathe - but of course it's that price. Since I am in the gaming world (especially Xbox Systems) when a new gaming console comes out you know what that means...you've gotta support the new games.

I will even if I don't have the console though - although the opposite would be nice

Again thanks guys. The only reason you'd be wearing a paper bag over your head is either to rob a convienent store or being a redneck, not understanding the concept that your suppose to puke in the bag but not WHILE it's on your head lol Pretty nasty huh?

And trust me, I'll enjoy my stay. Looks like there isn't any crap or cussing going on around this place!!
