Hello & HELP! (please)

Hello to all

I love this forum...thanks so much for creating it for those who are not computer savvy (like myself)!

I am experiencing a problem that just started within the last month. I cannot open my Add/Remove Programs option. I click on the icon and it just never shows the files. The box stays open and the only way I can get rid of it is to reboot. This is driving me nuts...any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks again for this informative site.

My Operating System is 2000. I haven't contacted Microsoft yet, I'll try your suggestions then get with them. I also have added nothing new to the computer. I'm at work today, but will check things out when I get home.
