    Ok let's see....

I have a computer that I had built not to long ago, and it worked just fine for a couple months, and then I went to turn it on two days ago and it wouldn't boot up at all. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and might be able to give me some ideas on what to look at to fix it. Thank you for reading this and hope someone can help me!

    Danny

Welcome aboard man. Uhm, any heavy thunderstorms lately? What PSU are you using? Have you reseated all of your cables? Sorry Dan, I can't do better than that as your info is quite scant. Good luck.

A PSU is your Power Supply Unit. Just because your machine was not running at the time doesn't mean it can't get hit. Do you get any beeps on startup?

No, it was not connected to a surge protector, but I'm new to fixing computers, it just cost to much to have someone else repair it, so I figured I would just try to myself. I get my anti virus programs and spybot progams off this website and was looking and found the forums and just thought to myself, why not try it.

Well, I'm just going to guess here.... Any fans come on and when you boot is it from your front panel button or turning it on from the back?

I actually power it on from the front switch but the one on my psu is always left on.... Do you think it could be my video card that is bad maybe? Or should i try buying a new psu because there are lights that come on that are on my motherboard... but I'm not to sure what that means.

Are your fans running? Let's take things slowly..:)

No they do not, however, the motherboard light comes on, which is the green one.

Hmm, do you have a multi-meter? You can at least check the fan voltages with that. The fans take 12 volts.

I'm positive that i do not have that. I'm going to try to swap my video cards tommorow and if that doesn't solve it then I will try a new PCU, and i will keep posting updates on here. I want to say thanks for all your help and I will let you know so if you see another forum on here with the same problem you can tell them. Thanks.

Check your PSU first, you could blow a perfectly good video card for no reason. Those things are pricey. Good luck Dan.
