    1) There is a pop-up blocker somehwhere on my PC that I don't know about. I have Notron and Windows XP and I have, to the best on my knowledge, disabled both of these.

    Norton: Disable Internet Security

IE: Tools, Internet Options, Privacy, uncheck "Block Pop-Ups" Box.

I don't know what else to do or where to look.

    2) I uninstalled Java because I was having problems with it, and now when I go to Java.com to install the latest version, I only see the update available, noth the entire Java file.

Where can I download the entire lastest Java from without ordering & paing for the CD?

    Thanks you.

Do you have a pop-up blocker instead of the two you listed. Or you might have a toolbar like yahoo or google -cause those block pop-ups.

You can download the latest version of Java from that link ;)

TY controlmind - see that is the whole problem... I DO in fact have another pop-up blocker on my PC but I have no idea where it is or how to find it. I don't have the Yahoo or Google toolbar (or if I do, I don't know about them and thery are not visible).

Any ideas on how to find it?

Have you tried looking in Add/Remove, to try to find one?

could you post a screen shot of your running tasks from task manager, this might shed some light on the problem, also as controlmind says, have a good look round your system to see if any additional programs are in there which block pop-ups, try the "manage add-ons" option in IE, see if any object handlers in there are responsible. the windows popup blocker is accessible thru the top of the web page under "Tools-Pop up blocker > turn off pop up blocker" you will find "manage add ons" under that. if nothing else you will at least see if you have a toolbar installed as a "browser helper object"
