help a poor student

please will someone tell me how to save an integer. its value has come from a multiple choice test. i am using visual basic 6.

 

What do you mean by save? Do you mean parse (as in actually drop it into a variable so you can use it)? Or do you actually mean save, as in save it's value to a file?

 

Or is integer the name of a boy we need to save from a burning car?

save as a file that i can call back to see what it contains. like a high scores table

I did it way back when I was in school for my A'Level project (which I wrote in VB 4 I think ) and I don't recall it being ridiculously complicated - far from it. See how you get on with it anyway.

It would probably help if you posted the error and the code......

 

Sammyboy - it really helps us if you can tell us as much about the problem as possible... When you refer to the middle line of the code that doesn't mean anything to us... post the code and let us have a squint...

FYI: A syntax error is usually where the code doesn't make sense to the interpreter/compiler - you are usually trying to do something incorrectly... Its probably a small mistake and easily fixed...
