help about antivirus

RECENTLY installed xp on my system and it is xp not with sp1or2

what antivirus should be in pc i have not much space in hard b coz ususally antiviruses are soo heavy to use in small harddrives
i have 13 gb

1 what should be installed so that i can protect pc from welchia worms soccer worms etc


2 is there any good online virus scan

3 which is the best adware/spyware

4 can i scan for spyware free from any site

 

avast is a great antivirus client that I use. It only uses about a couple of megabytes of memory so you know that it won't slow your computer down.

 

Regardless of what AntiVirus you install, you are still open to attacks until you install all critical patches.

Any reason why you don't want SP1 or SP2.

In a few months it will be mandatory probably if you want any Micro$$oft updates.

It is highly recommeded you install SP2 and all other critical patches.

I DISLIKE SP2 BCOZ IT ON NETWORKING GIVE MESSEGE

LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY , AND THE INTERNET DOESNOT WORK WHAT DO U SUGGEST NOW b coz internet on this computer is only due to networking ,

a few days ago there wqas xp sp 2 in this pc and i wqas very frusrtrated that i cant use net on networking b coz always a messete balllon that

"limited or no connectivityZ"

so some1 gave suggestion to reformat harddisk and install xp without sp2

and now nwt is working without any problem

Get SP2 and come here and scroll down to the Networking subforum and ask for help with your connectivity issue. I have my computers networked with SP2, and so do millions of others. If I can figure it out, so can you. It's easy to blame MS for problems but it rarely fixes them.

 

I'm not great with Networking, but I completely agree with the above.

Anyway, sooner or later SP2 will be mandatory and will be with AutoUpdates in a few months.

For once Micro$$oft has become serious about security and I believe should be applauded and supported.

Yes they do make mistakes, but SP2 isn't one of them.
