Help about college work...

    Hey,

    I was wondering if people could help me with this little assignment thing i have got to do. I've been asked to research...
    "why do most people go to the cinema on weekends instead of through the week."

    I know mainly that is because people work or go to school. But i've also been asked to find out why people who don't have a job or go to school don't go.

    I would appreciate your feedback thanks:)

    Hi and Welcome to the forum,


    For me going to the cinema at weekends is best or more preferable as I work during the week and alot of the time have some projects to finish at home, plus after a long day I'm knackered, OH and need to be up early-ish most days but I see your more after folk who dont work or goto school.

    And while I remember, another reason I dont go during the week, unless its Friday is that most friends who I woudl go with are liek me unavailable until the weekends and I dont feel like being a sad sack and going on my own :(

    I do also tend to goto the later screenings as they tend to have a slightly quieter crown of people who are not SMSing, talking or messing around during the film.. damm annoying, which is why I have not been to the cinema in ages.

    1. People who work have the money but not the time during the week.

    2. People who don't work don't have the money, but do have the time

    3. Students not in school usually just don't have enough money period.

    If you search out "Movie Statistics" you will find a load of info on the Movie habits of most people.

    You will probably find that retirees would go to the movies during the day throughout the week, however...unless you live in the city or such, most theaters only run matinees on the weekends!!

    I, myself...I agree with Halo 100%, as far as me personally!!

    In Oz the entrance fee is cheaper on the weekends (not by much), and also the screening times tend to extend a bit later at night which works well if you prefer Halo's theory!
