I am unable to end acfont.exe. It activates every few seconds and uses up all my cpu. I don't even know what this execution does. Any tips on how else to try to end or delete this process?

I just searched Microsoft, Google, and MSN for this file, and no hits on Microsoft or Google. MSN did return one hit and it had something to do with an Excell file. Do you have Office on your computer? It might be a good idea to look at the Spyware section of this forum, thoroughly read the sticky notes at the top of the page, and run the applications listed there. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help, but I'm sure that a more experienced member will read your post and offer more helpful suggestions. :)

Sorry that I didn't answer your question in my first post, but as usual I go off half cocked. Go to Start - Run, and type msconfig and hit enter. This will bring up a list of processes that are started when you turn your computer on. If it is in the list , put a check beside the box, and follow the on screen instructions. If it isn't in this list, do a search for the file with the search function. You may have to change the view to show hidden files and folders, but you can find which program this file is in this way, and delete it if necessary.
I may have overlooked your system specs., but I didn't see them listed. It is always nice to know what operating system that you are dealing with in situations such as this. The advice that I gave was assuming XP. :)

    Hi ParkerParker,

It is likely that you have a StopGuard/Virtumundo infection. Please take a look at this link: READ ME: Virtumundo Problems/Resolution Threads

As you will see, Symantec has a removal tool for this.

I suggest you also take a run through the Cleanup Tutorial:

READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

There may be other baddies on your machine. If you need further assistance, start a thread in the Spyware Forum and list the steps that you have already taken.

    Best luck :)
