    hi,
I have a p4 2.4 ghz with 512 mb RAM, a ge force fx 5200 and windows xp home edition

the programs i have installed are: spybot, AVG and as a firewall I use the Microsoft firewall.
I have the Service pack 2 installed

lately there are big problems, I cannot install anymore programs, and the ones I have installed, I cannot delete, for example, a week ago I installed Call of duty, now it won't deinstall, and I cannot install the add-on over it.
I also had the problem of my PC rebooting now and then, but this has stopped for a few days now.....

    help, anyone??

Have you followed the spyware removal steps detailed in the announcement in that forum? If so, it sounds like a system file check is in order. You'll need your XP install CD. Open a command prompt & type in "sfc /scannow" without the quotes. If you get a message saying it can't be run, then type in "sfc /scanboot" without the quotes of course. This will allow it to run upon reboot. This will check all your essential system files & replace them if they appear corrupted. Good luck,
