My ATI Radeon 9500 Pro graphics card that I recently bought off of Ebay freezes or stops responding to driver commands during games. I have tried reinstalling the drivers for it and my motherboard. I have scanned it for artifacts and found none. I also have tried cooling it off with a large desk fan and that doesn't help.

    My computer Specs
    Soyo K7VME Motherboard
    AMD Athalon XP 2600+ processor
    350 Watt power supply

I'm not sure if the graphics card is bad or what. I'm hoping someone can help me. Thank you.

The power supply is made by RexPower. I have an 80 Gig Serial ATA hard drive made by IBM. I have a 52X speed CD-ROM drive. I have a 3 1/2 inch floppy drive. A PCI Serial ATA card so that I can use my hard drive. Is there anything else you need to know?

if your previous graphics card was nvidia, make sure you use a driver cleaner to remove any remnants of them.
to eliminate any posibility of software problems do this.

    download drivercleaner pro (google)
make sure you have the latest ATI drivers and control panel on your desktop
use drivercleaner to remove NVIDA drivers, then use it to remove ATI drivers
    then reboot.
when your back in windows, stop any automatic hardware installs
install your ATI drivers from the desktop reboot.
try and see if that fixes your problems.

    some other things to try:
    disable fastwrites (bios or smartgart)
you can also set AGP from 8X to 4X ( sometimes that helps)
make sure you have the latest m/b drivers installed for you m/b (reinstall just to make sure -if unsure)
if your overclocking don't-see if this helps
if you can increase agp voltage in bios, raise it a notch and see if that helps.

that's all i can think of right now

    good luck.
